Brompton X Shantell Martin

A world renowned artist, Shantell Martin’s collaboration with Brompton was more than just a limited-edition bike design. It was a genuine partnership merging Martin’s love for city cycling with the arts, two worlds that seem unlikely next to each other.

As the lead copywriter and marketing manager for this bike drop, I knew I wanted to speak to the presence of motion in Martin’s artwork as symbolism to the iconic Brompton folding bike our customers already know and love.

Boldly draw your path

Without sounding too saccharine, I wrote copy for this partnership with Martin’s intended audience in mind — young artists who challenge boundaries and make a statement in their day-to-day lives.

This tonal approach was somewhat outside of the standard Brompton brand voice, but encouraged a fresher point-of-view still true to the bike’s ethos.

 

Playful, spirited, and limitless, Shantell Martin’s artwork empowers us to journey beyond the norm and make space for individuality wherever we go.

Exclusively available in North America, the special edition Brompton X Shantell Martin C Line 2 Speed is a true representation of the artist’s signature style. Featuring a distinct design inspired by one of Martin’s pieces, this bike is a work of artist itself, each handmade at our factory in London.
